CarameloVet
The appointment ends.
The care does not.
A veterinary telemedicine platform with three panels: pet owner, veterinarian and administration. AI guides before the appointment, organizes the visit and answers questions afterwards, always with the veterinarian in control.

PRODUCT IN DEVELOPMENTOWNER VIEW

The way in is not a form.
It is a conversation.
THE PROJECT
Caring for a pet is
a sequence of decisions.
People with an animal at home rarely have a single question. There is the itch that will not go away, the medicine running out, the vaccine due next week and the appointment three days from now. In between, nobody answers.
CarameloVet puts that sequence in one place: the question becomes a conversation, the conversation becomes an appointment with the right veterinarian, and the guidance stays available once the call is over.
I designed and developed the whole product: the three interfaces, the API, the database, the payment, video and notification integrations, and the AI layer.
Owner
Pets, AI guidance, booking, payment, video appointments, prescriptions, vaccination card and medication reminders.
Veterinarian
License validation, own schedule, triage before the appointment, medical records, prescriptions, reviews and the payout for each visit.
Platform
Own API, database with clinical history and vector search, video room, automatic payment split and notifications by email, WhatsApp and push.
THE FULL JOURNEY
- Question
- AI triage
- Booking
- Payment
- Video appointment
- Veterinarian review
- 24/7 assistant
CHAPTER 01 · BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT
From the itch to a booked slot,
without leaving the chat.
The owner describes what is happening. The assistant asks what is missing, checks the pet's history (a recorded allergy, medication in use, a vaccine about to expire) and points to the specialty. When the case needs a physical exam, it says so instead of pushing a video appointment.

- Fixed price per specialty
- The owner knows the cost before choosing the professional. There is no price list per veterinarian.
- License in plain sight
- Registration, rating and field of work appear while the owner picks a time.

CHAPTER 02 · THE APPOINTMENT
Payment holds the slot.
The visit fits on one screen.
Payment goes through Pix or card and holds the time while the owner confirms; the split between platform and veterinarian is automatic. On the other side, the professional opens the appointment with the triage summary, the pet data, the allergies in plain sight and the record, diagnosis and prescription fields on the same screen.

- A room per appointment
- The video call happens inside the page itself, and recording only starts with consent from both sides.
- Allergies first
- What can harm the animal sits above the rest of the record.

CHAPTER 03 · AFTER THE APPOINTMENT
AI proposes.
The veterinarian decides.
The call is transcribed and the AI drafts what it understood: the complaint, the guidance, the prescription and the next steps. Each item reaches the veterinarian with the passage of the recording it came from, to approve, edit or discard. The owner only sees the record once that review is done. The assistant answers from that record, at any hour, without going beyond what was said.

- Traceable source
- Every item shows the passage of the recording that produced it.
- Review required
- Nothing is visible to the owner before the veterinarian finishes the review.
- Grounded answers
- Beyond what that appointment covered, the assistant suggests a new one.

THE PRINCIPLE
No line written by AI
reaches the owner without the veterinarian.
CHAPTER 04 · THE VETERINARIAN SIDE
The professional also needs
an organized routine.
Sign-up goes through license validation before the profile shows up in search. After that, the professional sets their own hours, sees the day in order of urgency (the appointment happening now, who has paid and is waiting to be accepted, what needs an answer) and follows the payout for each visit.

- 70% of each appointment
- The payout goes out after the visit, with the platform commission itemized.
- Nothing to install
- Schedule, records and video call run in the browser, on a computer or a phone.
ENGINEERING
The decisions that
hold the product up.
01Three panels, one domain
Owner, veterinarian and administration share the same data model. Who sees what is decided in the database, with row-level permissions, not in checks scattered across the interface.
02AI never writes alone
Every item drafted from the transcript keeps its source and starts out pending. The veterinarian review is a backend rule, not a button the screen happens to offer.
03Runs whole with no API key
Payment, video, transcription and notifications have a simulation mode. The full system runs in development without touching an external service, which keeps the tests fast and free.
04Accessibility inside the product
Text size, high contrast, a readable typeface, less motion and a larger cursor live in a menu of the app. It is not a launch checklist: it is a screen the owner uses.

NEXT STEP
A product like this starts
by understanding the journey.
If your operation depends on several people and on information that cannot get lost along the way, the work looks like this one: map what happens today, cut what does not need to exist and build what holds the rest together.
